Sarah, Owner of Corner Cottage Bakery

My name's Sarah, Owner and Head Baker here at Corner Cottage

We are an independent bakery in the heart of the West Midlands, in between Stratford Upon Avon and Leamington Spa.

My passion and love for baking began as a child when I would spend countless hours in the kitchen with both my mother and my grandmother. I qualified as a baker after leaving school and went on to work for a bakery for 10 years before going off to university to study molecular biology. I then worked as a scientist for over 20 years. But as we all know, baking is a science too!

At the beginning of lockdown I was made redundant, and my partner Tony happened to cycle past the little shop and saw it was for sale. We booked a viewing and we immediately fell in love with the old property, put in an offer and completed the sale in September 2020. Then the hard work began! It took seven months of blood, sweat and tears to bring the 200-year-old building back to its former glory and we love her!

Corner Cottage Bakery was born and very quickly the community of Kineton and beyond came to love us, as we did them!

"Baking is a science too!" - We combine traditional techniques with scientific precision to create consistently excellent products. Every loaf, every pastry, and every cake is made with care, using the finest ingredients including local suppliers wherever possible.

We believe in quality over quantity, which is why we bake in small batches throughout the day, ensuring everything is as fresh as possible when it reaches your table.
